Laura Dawn Swopes is a single mother who
lives in Midland and she has been an active member in the community
for years. She has 2 adorable son's and she works a full-time job
to support her family. She does this alone for the most part with
no additional income or assistance and she has a hard time accepting
help, she feels there might be someone else out there that needs
it more then her. She is very unselfish and that is a beautiful quality
to have......more»
Project Harris
Choc & Betty Harris in Greenwood, TX
asked for assistance putting up a swing set for their 2 year old
granddaughter Cadence who they're currently raising. Choc having
a few health issues & Betty being a mother again later in life
felt they could use some help getting this swing set up and they
felt it was another way for the Youth to learn. H.O.T. Youth
assembled a small team of Volunteers & we spent 2 evenings reading
intense instructions for assembling this swing set. Being the instructions
were intense it taught all of us a lot of patients, how to communicate
vital instructions & how to work together as a team. Over all,
we were able to help a family complete a large project & receive
an incredibly huge smile from their Granddaughter Cadence...Priceless!.....more»
Hoeppel Project
Chad Hoeppel is the Greenwood Baptist Church
Youth Minister. We were excited about getting to reach out to a great
family and help them accomplish replacing and completing their fence.
The Hoepple’s have 3 precious little girls who love to play outside
but without a proper fence that made backyard playtime hard. With the
help of about 15 Greenwood youth and adult volunteers we tore down
and replaced 2 sides and added the back side of fence to completely
surround their yard. We were able to show our volunteers step by step
how to build a proper fence. We dug holes, cemented pipe, and hung
gates while some did a little yard work. This was an exciting project
and taught us all about what can be accomplished with a little bit
of team work......more»

Copeland Project
Mrs. Copeland has been a member of the Greenwood community for many years. She enjoys working in her yard and planting flowers but having a large yard can be a lot of work. She put in an application to have some yard work done and also hoped of having her carport repainted knowing this task would be too much for her. H.O.T. Youth
was able to make it all happen.....more»
Chinikidiadi Project
The Chinikidiadi Family came to H.O.T. Youth
in need of landscaping around their home. Mr. Chinikidiadi had attempted many
times to landscape his yard and each time he attempted he ended up in the Emergency
Room with an allergic reaction from a red fire ant bite. His reaction is severe,
his throat starts to close and he cannot breathe well. H.O.T. Youth
came out to assess what was needed to help this family get ready for their daughters
1st birthday party that they were having outside in their back yard in less than
2-3 weeks.....more»
