Murihead Project
Jennifer Murihead was submitted to H.O.T. Youth for help by another family in need of putting a fence back together that fell down during one of West Texas massive wind storms. Jennifer is a single lady living in the home her father left her as he passed away that July 4th weekend 2009. As a young lady, Jennifer is not familiar with how to put a fence back together and fortunately she knew a members of a family that knew about the H.O.T. Youth Program. H.O.T. Youth heard of this sensative situation and put a team of 3 volunteers together in less than 12 hours notice, hopped into a van and went to put her fence back together. Fortunately, supplies were not needed as the fence could be salvaged back together, however there is always a stratagy that has to be thought out. The 3 volunteers worked diligently about 6 hours not only putting the fence back together but they also moved & weed eated the yard for her. Little did the Volunteers know her father had been sick for awhile and Jennifer knew the time for him was near and this act of kindness helped her so much in such a tragic time. The Volunteers also found out her father was in Fargo, North Dakota and she couldn't afford a plane ticket to get to him. H.O.T. Youth pulled resources from many members in the Community and were ready to buy her a ticket to see her father hopefully before his passing. However, Jennifer advised us her Grandmother stepped in and made sure Jennifer would get there and to use the resources for another project. How unselfish to give when she is the one in need. Jennifer was not able to make it to her father in time but she did get back to Fargo, North Dakota as mentioned. Jennifer it was an honor to help with your project and H.O.T. Youth wishes you peace during such a difficult time. |
